American Life

American life in the 1970s was very interesting and different from American life now. The first thing that is very different is the food they ate back in the 1970s. The average meal in the life of an American citizen in the 1970s was this. For breakfast they would have juice, coffee, or milk with kuglehopf and browned sausage links. For lunch they would have creole fish soup, some sort of vegetables, and ginger pears. Dinner during that time was called supper and was had a little earlier than dinner now a days. For supper they would have a sandwich with whatever they like on it, ginger jumbos and sliced tomatoes.
Back in the 1970s they had a lot of different types of literature. The literature types were all the normal types you would see in any time period like fiction and non-fiction. Some of the best books during the 70s were water ship down, the stand, and interview with the vampire. The best book during the 1970s was the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy by Douglas Adams. It was a comic science fiction. The book originally started off as a radio broadcast on BBC radio 4. The book was so successful that it was made into a five book series that were all big hits on the bestseller list. In the 80s the book was turned into a television series.
The 1970s brought along a lot of great musicians and bands. Musicians like
john Lennon, Abba, David Bowie, and Gary numan. Some of the great bands like led zeppelin and the Beatles. The Beatles were a very huge hit in the 70s with songs like a day in the life, strawberry fields forever, I wanna hold your hand and let it be. The biggest of them all though would have to be Elvis Presley. He was an icon that shaped music and musicians for the future. Known for his hair and his charming looks he was the biggest thing that has happened to music in many people’s eyes.
